Hi All,
I've tried to make factory reset on CP-7945G and have the following errors within TFTPD32:
Firmware files were successfully sent to phone.
error 2 in system call CreateFile The system cannot find the file specified.
There is a need in following files:
ITLFile.tlv
XMLDefault.cnf.xml
SEP081F...cnf.xml
ITLSEP081F...tlv
CTLSEP081F...tlv
As I understand there should be these five files on TFTP folder in addition to the firmware scope of files.
The screen on CP-7965G is white. I see nothing.
Volume, Headset and Speaker button work.
Does anybody have these sample files to make the similar on my lab?
Or any other ideas to reanimate phone?

Hi Nipun Singh,
SCCP CP-7945 for now is not able to be registered with CUCM 8.6.
Phone's ip address is pinged from CUCM.

Just one CP-7945G in a lab. Screen was OK before the upgrade.
It seems the ITL, CTL etc. files needed to be sent while updated on TFTPD32.

Hi, Nipun.
What was the firmware before upgrade ? What version did you upgrade to ?
-- I don't remember exactly on which firmware it was initially, but tested on SCCP and SIP from 8 version (even 9) with no luck:

'Also, if you have a CUCM, you are using an external TFTP server to host files ?'
-- With CUCM 8.6 only internal TFTP based on the same CUCM ip address (as TFTP Service on Publisher).
Any hints on inserting dummy CTLSEP081FF363327F.tlv, SEP081FF363327F.cnf.xml and XMLDefault.cnf.xml files?
CP-7945G got its ip address on L2 network, is pingable.
HEADSET, SPEAKER buttons are able to be lighted on when pressed. I can hear sound while pressing +/- 'Volume' buttons.
Also red light is blinking on a handset while pressing +/- 'Volume' buttons.
Cheers!

You are using tftpd32 for firmware upgrade? on your cucm, menu dhcp server configuration, you configure the ip address of the computer which hosted the tftpd32?
Then upgrade is ok, but the configuration file SEP [@MAC].xml.cnf is not hosted where tftp32 is installed....but it's hosted on cucm server.....then by tftp protocol, your phone search the xml file but not in the good way....

Hi Benode371,
Thank you for the input.
'You are using TFTPD32 for firmware upgrade?'
-- Yes. TFTPD32 for firmware upgrade.
'on your cucm, menu dhcp server configuration, you configure the ip address of the computer which hosted the tftpd32?'
--No. I don't have DHCP server configured on CUCM. I use only PC with TFTPD32 as DHCP and TFTP servers hosted in connection with CP-7945G.
---
In my other experiment I'm trying to pick up CP-7945G by CUCM 8.6. Both CUCM and CP are located on the same L2 (Class C) Private Network.
With ether SCCP or SIP firmware upgraded previously via TFTPD32 or reset via '12456789*0#'. But phone is 'Unknown' in any case in a 'Device' menu. CUCM pings CP's ip address and I can ping CUCM from any local ip address. All the services on CUCM are Activated. Phone's screen is still white.

Ok. The problem is that your phone can't find its configuration file SEP [@MAC].xml.cnf on your PC.
This file is generated on your CUCM when your configure Device>Add phone-complete the type and the mac address....
Then, your phone has to download this file to the CUCM by tftp....
You perhaps can find this file yourself on your CUCM and copy it on your PC where TFTP32 is installed....then at the end of the boot process your IP phone will download by tftp its SEP file from your PC.
Regards.

Hi all,
Made Dummy SEP, CTL and XMLDefault.cnf.xml files.
Phone requests either only CTLSEP081FF363327F.tlv or together with ITL files.
Then I glanced which SIP firmware uses CUCM at its TFTP.
It is SIP45.9-3-1SR1-1S.loads. I downloaded it.
Put on TFTPD32.
Then phone got all firmware files and got stuck on 'File <CTLSEP081FF363327F.tlv> : error 2 in system call CreateFile The system cannot find the file specified.' etc.
Then I stopped TFTPD32. Pinged phone. Went to its http.

Does anybody know which firmware should I use for that phone if it says V07?
Thank you.

Hi,
I did 7945's registration on CUCM 8.6.
As concerned TIP-7945, I upgraded before the CUCM firmware table with this file:
cmterm-7945_7965-sip.9-4-2SR3-1.k3.cop.sgn
Then, I configure the "add phone" menu in order to register my 7945 sip phone and it upgraded automatically.
My TFTP server was on my CUCM server.
You use tftpd32 on a PC....
Then the ip @ of the tftp server (option 150) is well configured on your cucm server? (DHCP server menu).
On your PC where tftpd32 is running you have to xtract the file of cmterm-7945_7965-sip.9-4-2SR3-1.zip (8 files inside).
Best Regards
If this helps, please rate.

Hi,
If yourare using CUCM, cop.sgn extention file is needed to upgrade your IP phone. With CME you need tar file. Tar file is composed of 8 files. U only need these files to upgrade your IP phone. Same thing with CUCM, U don't need anything else.
cop.sgn and tar files can be donwloaded with your cisco account:
https://software.cisco.com/download/type.html?mdfid=281346594&catid=null
Check your 150 option (tftp ip address) on your dhcp server.
Use wireshark on your tftp server in order to verify the file request from your IP phone 7945 to the tftp server.
Retry the pad combinaison to have an other factory reset.
ITL,CTL are files which are always requested by an IP Phone independant of its upgrade. SEP file is the xml configuration file which is needed for the registration of the IP Phone. These differents requests are other thing different compared with upgrade. Upgrade is at the beginning of the boot procedure, after dhcp, and registration is the last step.
Regards.
