Creating Dialer with FXO Card

Hi all,

This is probably a basic question but... I have a 2901 with a 4-port FXO card. I want to connect a POTS line and dial a remote console server which has a built in modem. I'm not sure how to configure the FXO card or router to do this.

A link to any sort of documentation will help and I can start there.

What is going to initiated the call?

Initiating the call would be the 2901 router. We would dial a remote console server which will be connected to a pots line.

So basically, you would have a topology like this:

Phone -- CME (2901 router) -- FXO -- Provider?

Correct?
