CUBE-SIP trunks

Hi guys,  if SIP Carrier provided plan to install 3 sip trunk to 1 site where I have 1 CUBE and CUCM , does this mean that I will just have 3 different dial-peers with 3 different IPs of Carrier ?

If yes, how can I separate those dial-peers ?

thank you

what about my first question is it true or not ?

Yes to your question. That document should answer all your questions.

I think i don't need multi-tenant configuration because we will use those 3 sip trunks for 1 company only. Is this correct ?

1 sip tg is active as backup go to backup switches of the Carrier, so if I create dial-peer 9 for active, then 92 and 93 for backup with different IPs it should work. Right ?

Multi-Tenant is for multiple SIP trunks terminating on a single CUBE like you mentioned in your post. If your ITSP requires trunk registration, you would need to use multi-tenant. Read the doc please to understand what is it used for.

I did not get your second question. Can you re-iterate please ?

Looks at this  document:

https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/solutions/collateral/enterprise/interoperability-portal/ucm-centurylink-sip-trunks-unified-border-element.pdf

They programmed 2 sip trunks by using different dial-peers BUT not multi-tenant feature .

So I think I can do same thing with 3 sip trunks.

That document is out of scope wrt your question.
1. It is for a CUBE HA setup.
2. The SIP Trunks are not being configured for registration. Look at the "sip-ua" section.

Like I said, if your ITSP requires registration or does proxy authentication differently, you will have to use the multi-tenant feature to get everything working correctly. If your ITSP does not need registration/authentication, you can get away with a single dial-peer if you need it to be very brief and use "voice class server group" -

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios-xml/ios/voice/dialpeer/configuration/xe-3s/vd-xe-3s-book/multiple-server-groups.html

ITSP doesn't require registration or proxy auth. So I can have 3 dialpeers with 3 IP of ITSP or voice class server group .

Thank you

Yes you can.

First question would be why would you need 3 separate SIP trunk from the same carrier at the same location?

we connect to 1 sip carrier, kinda their cloud, they have 3 or 4 switches in LA, NY, somewhere else , and they proposed this plan for redundancy. So I was thinking if i set up 3 dial-peers with diff preferences and diff carrier ip's then that will be considered as 3 sip trunks .

Never had experience with multipple sip trunks on 1 cube, so i was confused a little bit when i saw their proposal and trying to figure it out myself.

So, one SIP trunk with multiple SBCs.

The easiest way to handle it assuming you are on IOS version supporting this feature is to use

"voice class server-group" feature where you can define all of the destinations and apply to one dial-peer, alternatively you can use the old school method with 3 dial-peers with different preferences.

no, 1 cube and 3 sip trunks to the same sip carrier .
