Hello,

I would like to know the functionality of CUBE. How Cube differs from Voice gateway, is it kind of device or module inserted in cisco voice gateway?

Hello-

"Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) is a session border controller, providing voice and video connectivity from the enterprise IP network to service provider SIP trunks."

It is a software feature on an IOS gateway.

You might want to re-post this in the IP Telephony forum rather than Contact Center.

DJ has pretty much answered your queries. CUBE is just a normal router with the CUBE functionality added in the IOS. You just need CUBE licenses and can turn CUBE on by enabling the configurations.

The traditional voice gateways have E1/T1 ISDN lines connecting you to the PSTN. If you use CUBE it provides PSTN connectivity over a data/WAN link using SIP.

Let us know if you have anymore queries on CUBE.
