Are you sure you're using a bootable DVD ? Many of the images you download from support.cisco.com aren't bootable. They have to be ordered seperately.

If you're sure the DVD is correct, then you can enter the book menu as the server starts up to select the device to boot from.

Hi,

CUCM 7.0 is a bootable one but CUCM 7.1.5 is not bootable. But thats how CUCM 7.1.5 is in cisco.com. I am planning to make CUCM 7.1.5 a bootable one.

If you downloaded 7.1.5 from support.cisco.com then it's unlikely to be a bootable one. I believe you'll need to order a bootable DVD or ISO via the PUT tool.

Hi,

Just to add to what Gordon rightfully said, none of the linux UCM images available on cisco.com are bootable ISOs.

Secondly, what is the exact server model you are trying to install UCM on? Is this DVD of 7.0 shipped from Cisco? Do you get an error or the server doesn't even recognize the media in the DVD drive?

Regards,

Harmit.

Hi,

I have a cisco given, Bootable_UCSInstall_UCOS_7.0.1.11000-2.sgn image. I tried to boot this one. But it did not boot from DVD. The server is MCS 7825 HP make. I planned to install Bootable_UCSInstall_UCOS_7.0.1.11000-2.sgn and then upgrade using CUCM 7.1.5 upgrade file.

Hi,

Did you burn the media (provided by Cisco) onto a DVD or was the DVD shipped from Cisco? Have you tried using some other bootable OS media to see if the DVD drive is working fine?

Regards,

Harmit.

Hi,

I burned the media provided by cisco on to a DVD. I have tried one Microsoft XP CD and it started to boot from CD, that means the DVD drive is working fine. Now I am burning the media into new DVD and going to check.

There you go! So that does narrow it down to just that DVD you burned :-) I would suggest burning it again and doublecheck the settings when burning it such that it is indeed burned as a bootable DVD.

HTH.

Harmit.
