Hi,
We have a lot of CP-7912G phones with SIP firmware and were used with Asterisk before. Now we have procured new CUCM 9.1 and trying to revert back those phones to SCCP. Looking at various other pages of this forum, we have found a way to prepare gkdefault.cfg file. But the issue here is that CUCM 9.1 does not accept the gkdefault file on its tftp server. We are able to upload the file to the tftp (through OS Administration--> TFTP File management) but as soon as you restart the tftp service, that file disappears from the tftp server. It looks like CUCM does not trust this file and deletes it.
I would highly appreciate if someone could advise how to resolve this issue. If there is a way that CUCM TFTP would accept the custom made gkdefault.cfg file, we are done.
Regards
Saif

You can use a PC with TFTPD to do firmware conversion.

Thanks Paolo,
We have already tried it and it works but its not scalable. We have hundreds of locations with different subnets and models. We cannot change tftp address for all of them. Neither can we go to each phone and manually change the tftp server.
We will have to find some way to upload the gkdefault file to CUCM TFTP and get accepted by it.

Did you ever find a resolution to this problem? I am trying to utilize a .cfg file for aastra phones on CUCM. After I upload the aastra.cfg file to CUCM and restart TFTP, the file disappears.
Thanks.

We used callmanager version 4.x just for the conversion. After all the phones got the desired images, we reverted to the latest CUCM 9.x
