CUCM and LDAP integration - Co-op directory User ID filter.

We have CUCM version 8.x and is integrated with windows 2008 Active Directory.

There are 1500 users in LDAP; out of that 100 users don't have IP Phones. Another 50 numbers of Phones without AD user accounts.

(like meeting room, Pantry, lobby phones, security phones etc.)

When I do CUCM and LDAP integration, I want to fileter those 100 users, who dont have IP Phones. These users appear at Phones corporate directory.

We dont want to display those 100 users at corporate directory.

Another thing is arround 50 phones ((like meeting room, Pantry, lobby phones etc.) dont have AD account.

But we need those entry in phones corporate directory. Poblem is, since CUCM is integrated with AD, we cant manually create these accounts in CUCM.

How to manage  clean corporate directory in this case?

We dont want to take chance of re-structuring AD just for the sake of CUCM corporate directory. AD is working since couple of year and organized.

Pls. suggest.

Two solutions, one would be to create dummy AD accounts for the lobby phones, etc so that they since from LDAP and show up in the directory.  Second, use CUCM 9.0 which has a feature where you can sync users from LDAP and manually add users as well, so you have mix of synced users and CUCM created users.

If you don't want to modify AD you can setup an external directory server which will host the corporate directory and you can add/edit entries from there to show anything you'd like.

Hi Rajesh,

You can also apply LDAP filters before doing the complete AD import into CUCM:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/8_0_1/ccmcfg/b02ldcsflt.html#wp1075347

The only problem with the LDAP filter would be the 50 phones without AD accounts won't be created since they don't exist in AD.

Dear Joe

What is the solution for the 50 phones with AD accunts. Those phones are lobby, Pantry and meeting room phones.

Once CUCM is integrated with LDAP. Local users will be automatically deleted. How to make these phone numbers to be appeared on Phone corporative ditectory ?
