CUCM Call Transfer Logic Question

Daniel Williams

Hello,

I just need to talk this logic out and see if it is sound.  I am mid-rebuild on my lab and need to solve a problem...thanks in advance!

  • CSS setup
    • CSS-A includes Partition_A
    • CSS-B includes Partition_A & Partition_B
  • Device Config
    • Gateway is in Partition_A with CSS-A
    • Receptionist is in Partition_A with CSS-B
    • User is in Partition_B with CSS-B

Desired Behavior:

They would like the gateway to only be able to dial the Receptionist.  And then for the receptionist to be able to transfer calls from the gateway, as needed, to the Users.  The users need to be able to dial out through the gateway and reach the receptionist.

I just want to verify that the transferred calls by the receptionist will still connect since the Users are in a partition that is not accessible by the Gateway's CSS.  I know this is basic stuff but for some reason I am just drawing a blank right now!  Frustrating....

I know this is convoluted but they want to make sure there is an extra level of separation from the gateway to the users to prevent some legacy DID behavior (LONG STORY).

Again..thanks!

Thanks for the response!  That is what I thought but just wanted to verify.
