Hi,
is there a way to log a missed call while busy on CUCM 7.1 on IP Phone 7900 series?
While competitors already have this feature I've never seen a way to achieve this with a callmanager (but playing around with call forward no answer to VM and a busy trigger >1), our customer's want to have a busy tone for callers AND a logged missed call on the phone.

Hi Sebastian,
You have to keep in mind that the Missed Calls/Call History is stored
on the phone itself and is triggered when a call actually hits the phone. So
if the call never actually reaches the phone there is no evidence of it ever
happening in the call History.
Sadly changing this is not possible with any current version of CUCM
If the Busy Trigger on a DN is set @ 1 the second call to that DN receives Engaged Tone and thusly no
Missed Call History
If the Busy Trigger on a DN is set @ 2 or gretaer the second call to that DN receives Ringback Tone and a Missed call. There
is no way to manipulate this behavior.
This is usually handled by setting a Busy Greeting on the Voicemail system that let's the second
caller know that the person is on a call and will return their call ASAP.
"Hi,this is Sebastian, I'm currently Busy on the other line right now but if you leave me a message
I shouldn't be too long and will get right back to you"
Cheers!

Hi Rob,
I've heard about a way doing this via CTI application monitoring the line (obviously it tracks even a busy line for arriving calls) and pushing a menu to the phone. It doesn't seem to be possible to alter the call logs from the outside (i.e. xml push)
It's all software... so it's just something to be implemented. Compared to "CFA Destination override"; someone told me it may never be possible with CCM (long ago)
Thanks
Sebastian

Hi,
I am in the same situation. Even this is an old thread.
I am using CUCM 9.1 and a user says in the past there was an notification on his phone when he gets called while busy. His busy trigger is set to 1 and I triesd to reproduce this but it is as expected: No ringing no logging....
Any news about that?

No, if the phone does not get the call, it cannot be a missed call.

Hi,
I have the same problem here and it is really not acceptable, beacause every Phone back in the 90s had that Feature and now were in the 21st Century and basic phone features does not work... Even a Jabber-Client is not showing the missed call when the line is busy.
