morning all
im new to CUCM and want to setup a basic install in our lab, with maybe 3 softphones and 3 physical IP phones
we have a ESXI server to install CUCM onto and a cisco switch to connect the phones to
the system will be for internal use only between the 6 devices. do i need a gateway, if so could you please reccomend a cost effective solution for such a small Lab system
we will want to make and receive calls, hold calls, conference call
Also what are the disadvantages of CUCM over UCCE
Kind Regards

Assuming you don't need to call the outside world (PSTN) no GW is needed, or that you don't need devices over FXS ports.
I suggest you do some digging on the CUCM and UCCE documentation, those are complete different systems, that are meant for complete different things, you need BOTH of them for a full solution.
