Re: CUCM upgrade failed

Dear All,

Todays i have tried couple of times upgrading CUCM from 11.5 to CUCM 14 SU2 and failed (stuck) with the below error.

error: file `/refresh_upgrade/isolinux/initrd.img` not found.

CUCM VM crashed. Restored the VM.

Any suggestion on this please.

Hi,

Did you check the pre requisites for this upgrade?If yes i suggest you open a case with Cisco TAC (you need a valid support contract).

Are you sure that this is a supported upgrade option? It would be stated in the upgrade guide if it is a valid upgrade path.

Hi,

Initially i have reverted VM snapshot from backup which didn't helped me.

Then TAC engineer reviewed the logs and found in the past VM restarted ungracefully and advised to rebuild the CUCM node and then go for upgrade.

After rebuilding CUCM node from the scratch my upgrade went well from 11.5 to 14.0.
