Hello,
We have a medium office we just acquired, with an unsupported v6.1 CUCM environment. 300 phones. No UCSS or contracts of any type. We're getting proposals on a new BE6K system.
I know there's no direct upgrade path from 6 to 10. But would a multi-step upgrade be recommended, or should we just start fresh? We've had two Cisco partners respond to our RFI, each with different opinions. Wanted to see what the community thought.
Thanks
Bill

There is a direct upgrade path from 6.1.4+
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/compat/matrix/10_x/CUCM_BK_CD1DB914_00_compat_matrix/CUCM_BK_CD1DB914_00_compat_matrix_chapter_01.html
As to what is better it depends, if you feel your system is not configured well and/or missing features you'd like to implement it might be better to start fresh.

In addition to what Chris [+5] has said,u can opt for PCD[Prime Collaboration Deployment ] if existing Call Manager is 6.1(5) and install fresh system with change of IP addresses.
