CUCM ver. 11.0 upgrade to 11.5 - Anyone using this version with 7940 & 7960 phones?

Upgrading a customer from CUCM ver. 11.0 to 11.5 in the near future and they are concerned by Cisco's phrasing, "Not supported but may work."  Anyone upgraded to version 11.5 yet and using either/both of these phones?

I recently did a 10.5 to 11.5 upgrade for a customer who had both 7940's and 7960's and they have had no issues reported. If that provides you with some confidence.

Hi,

Both Cisco 7940 and Cisco 7960 Phone models are supported in CUCM version 11.5(x). Please refer to below document for more details:

Thanks, Vaijanath S.

Thank you, but the documentation says the phones "are not supported but may work," which is what specifically was of concern to the customer.

Those phone models have been EOL for some years, thus, they were never tested to claim support on recent releases. You can configure them, and they should work fine, just don't expect assistance if a problem is determined to be in the phone's FW.

Thank you.  We are aware that they have been EOL since 2015 and therefore support is not available.

Thank you so much!!  This was exactly what we believed would be the case, and will now be able to tell the customer that others have upgraded to ver. 11.5 and are using the phone models in question.
