Hi,
I have an E1 controller that is down indicating a rx AIS....As shown below
E1 0/0/0 is down.
Applique type is Channelized E1 - balanced
Receiver is getting AIS.
alarm-trigger is not set
Version info Firmware: 20070320, FPGA: 20, spm_count = 0
Framing is CRC4, Line Code is HDB3, Clock Source is Line.
CRC Threshold is 320. Reported from firmware is 320.

What can I look out for, I have checked for a few doccs on cisco and its pointing toa fault on my telco..

It can be either a circuit fault, or the device on the other end is turned off or port shutdown.

What do you mean device on the other end..This is an isdn30 circuit..do you mean the Telco switch?

Yes, an inactive port on the switch would show AIS to your side.

Be persistent, they will refuse to admit fault (they are taught so in school).
One technique that works, I' ve used it yesterday, you set loopback on the router ("loopback local line" under controller), tell them that you have, at that point the ball is in their field.

I did set the loop back on the line and it came up with noi alarms...

Post has saved me as well thanks paolo!! i am having the same issue with the alarms being sent.. the controller has been going up and down for weeks now its finally down and the telco are telling me its nothing to do with them so now at least i can tell them it is..

no problems :) i take it back though its now flapping again. do you have any advice on diagnosing these sort of issues?

Hi, this problem is related to physical issues? I tried delete and create the controller and interface cem, and E1 never coming up, just stay in "Receiver is getting AIS"
