E1 Cross Cable on VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1

hi all,

i'm going to integrate a PABX to a 2911 router and i was asked to crimp an E1 cross cable.

i don't have any cable tester and was wondering if i could use the 2 ports on the VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 on a spare 2811 and then just issue some show commands.

is this possible or i would need 2x separate routers with VWIC cards on it.

Hi,

I think you can do it and run show controllers E1 command to check whether E1 is UP or not.

for cross cable , use pins on RJ45

1 -- 4

2 -- 5

4 -- 1

5 -- 2

thanks! let me try get a spare router and VWIC to test it out.
