Hi Leonardo,

That is most correct my friend

You will be given the option to install as a co-resident or opt out and

install as standalone.

Hi Leonardo,

It's not a separate OVA

You will use the small CUCM OVA based on a 1000 user

Subscriber I believe.

Hi leonardo,

Hope all is well with you my friend

Unity Connection will be added to the "existing" ELM server

as a Product Instance and then the licenses can be managed

from this central location/repository.

Hi Leonardo,

Please read this information:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/elmuserguide/9_0_1/CUCM_BK_E596FD72_00_enterprise-license-manager-user-90_chapter_01.html

Enterprise License Manager

Enterprise License Manager

Enterprise License Manager provides simplified, enterprise-wide management of user-based licensing, including license fulfillment. Enterprise License Manager handles licensing fulfillment, supports allocation and reconciliation of licenses across supported products, and provides enterprise-level reporting of usage and entitlement.

Note

You have the ability to define how to manage licensing of your enterprise. You can have one Enterprise License Manager for the entire enterprise, or you can have several Enterprise License Managers and divide the enterprise in a manner that best suits your needs.

Enterprise License Manager can run on a separate server or virtual machine or can coreside on a product's server or virtual machine. For more information on designing Cisco Unified Communications Systems, see www.cisco.com/go/ucsrnd.

Supported products

Enterprise License Manager supports the following products:

  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager
  • Cisco Unity Connection

Hi Leonardo,

No worries my friend

In most cases the co-resident deployment is recommended & if

you go this route with CUCM you would end up adding Unity Connection

as a Product instance as you so nicely noted.

Cheers!
