Factory reset 8821 does not work

We have two new CP-8821's that need to get a factory reset. The problem is that the reset will not be accepted. Is there another way than true the menu or # + power and then 1 2 3 …

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

Yes, I tried that several times on both phones but no luck. Also tried settings>Admin settings>Reset settings> All settings.

as per my past experience that should work.

 

 

If the Cisco Wireless IP Phone 8821 or 8821-EX is not able to boot properly, a factory reset can also be initiated via the
following procedure:
Turn the phone off by pressing the red button.
Press and hold the # key, then power on the phone.
Keep the # key held until the LED changes colors.
Once the LED changes colors, release the # key.
Then press 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 * 0 #.
The Cisco Wireless IP Phone 8821 or 8821-EX will then continue the normal boot process and have the factory settings
restored
 
 

 

To boot the alternate image, perform the following procedure.
Turn the phone off by pressing the red button.
Press and hold the * key, then power on the phone.
Keep the * key held until the LED changes colors.
Once the LED changes colors, release the * key.
The Cisco Wireless IP Phone 8821 or 8821-EX will then boot using the alternate image for that one time only.
