hi All,
We have an production voice gateway with E1 which talks h323 to our CUCM.
We have just inserted a 4port FXO Card and we would like to route only all our mobile phone calls to it.
I am getting conflicting info by searching the forum and also from Cisco TAC
It is possible manipulate/mask outbound caller ID on POTS FXO lines?
Cisco TAC says yes it is possible but dependent on my Telco.
Old thread from the forum states that it is not possible on FXO card
Eg: Actual number on FXO port 1 = 8980540, id like to mask it so that when ppl receive my call they see a caller id of 2370000
I have no issue manipulating and masking my outgoing numbers on the ISDN E1 line, but failed using the similar translation on the FXO
Appreciate any feedback.

Analog trunk doesn't support transmission of outbound caller ID. That is your telco who will decide and transmit the caller ID so you can't control it.

Vivek is correct (+5), POTS lines have a single number and always out pulses the number for caller ID, no way to change it as it's out of your control.
