Hi Guys,
Does anyone know if there is a way of striping digits without using route pattern Called Party Transformations to discard digits?
The reason is we are trialling the use of FXO for PSTN via MGCP but unlike ISDN, there is no way of dropping the access code like you can on the CUCM gateway config with ISDN.
We are hoping to use global route patterns and not have to create new patterns just for sites that will use FXO interfaces. I know this can be achieved by H.323 but is there any other way via MGCP?

hey Riddzy,
stop being lazy mate and stick a translation pattern on the voice port of your FXO card. ;-)

Hey Minkster!
Yeah, not a fan of potentially hundreds of duplicated patterns solely for FXO's... :)

You can discard the digit under Route List details (containing MGCP gateway). Go to your Route List containing the FXO MGCP gateway, under the Route List Details click on the MGCP gateway and set it to discard the digit under the called party transformations.
This way you dont need to modify your RPs.

Yeah, but if you are using global route patterns to which other sites are stripping the digits via the CUCM gateway on the ISDN ports, then these sites will be stripped twice won't they?

Create two different Route Groups. For Example: RG-ISDN and RG-FXO
Containing E1 and FXO ports. Assign both to a Route List and as mentioned before just modify the RG-FXO under Route List Details.
