We are currently in the process of moving our Call Manager and voice gateways to an off-site data center. However, one of our gateways has a 2 port fxs card we use for our fax machine. The fax machine is, of course, staying in our offices. Any ideas on the cheapest voice router we can use with the fxs card here? Are DSPs necessary for fax?

I would just go with a cheap ATA 187.

Rather than buying another full blown router, you can just get one of the VG2XX series..VG204, VG202 etc. It will be a waste if all you want to connect to the router are fxs ports. Yes dsps are.
