h323 gatekeeper and h323 gateway on the same 2911 + CUCM 7.1

Hello!

I need some help in understanding of trouble

I have the next system : CUCM + 2911 as PSTN gateway

I installed h323 gateway on 2911 and entered its parameters in CUCM

today I've got a task to insert H323 phone in my system.

I've made all the settings on 2911 to make it as h323 gatekeeper

but when I tried to insert a new gatekeeper in CUCM configuration it said "

Add failed. One of the required fields on the page has the same value as an entry that already exists in the database. Please check the corresponding Find List page to verify your entry does not exist."

As I understand I cannot make the gatekeeper with IP 192.168.47.233 until I have a gateway with the same IP.

my question is why?

What's the reason why you're building the the gatekeeper on the same h.323 gateway?

the reason is I have the system with one CUCM and one 2911.

The only place to install a gatekeeper is 2911.

Bind it to different interface, i.e. looopback.

it's not a solution but workaround

what is the reason I cannot register gatekeeper and gateway with the same IP on the CUCM?
