Hardware Conferencing in CME

Hello:

As far as my understanding goes, hardware conferencing is not an option in CME (ver 8.x in 29xx hardware with PVDM3-64 and one E1 trunk). Is that true? If it is not, could someone post here the configuration steps specific to the hardware conferencing in CME routers?

Hi bkhanal,

The phones are limited to a 3 party conference if you are using the CME software to enable the conferencing. If you need more you can use hardware resoruces. You can follow this amazing guide by Mark H: http://www.markholloway.com/blog/?p=1023

Thank you for the response. Actually I had used the same resource to configure the conferencing resource in my CME. For some reason it didn't work. As soon as i hit confrn button to conference in the 2nd party to the call, both phones give reorder tone. I don't know what went wrong. As soon as I removed "conference hardware" it defaulted to software mode and i could have 3 party conference. However, I am trying to get more than 3 parties in the call. If anybody has any suggestion that would be very much appreciated.

Can you post the full config as this is not showing, sccp ccm config, nor ephone-dns configuration for conferencing, you can follow the CME admin guide for step by step directions:
