Headset not working with IP Phone

Hi everyone

I have a Cisco IP Phone 7945

I am trying to connect it to Sennheiser PC 31-11 head phone and microphone.

Since they have a microphone and sound jack I have an RJ9 adapter that goes between the headphones/microphone and the phone. 

No sound comes out of it when I plug it into my phone. Any ideas?

I have tried to find out if they are compatible but struggling currently. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi Dawud,

Basis the phone series / model using you can open the Data sheet from the link below and find out whether the headset is compatible or not.

I think your phone supports both wide as well as narrow band as it has a dedicated port  and no headset amp is required.

Any way you can check this information in Data sheets and release notes.

Also I could not find anything on the cisco website for 7945.. instead it is for 7945G. Please cross check the phone model once.

Hi Chitrangad, many thanks for your response.

My phone says Cisco IP Phone 7945 in the top riht hand corner, but on the back it says Model: CP-7495G so I guess it's the same one you are referring to.

I am unable to see anything on the links you have provided that would indicate that the hardware I have selected is non-compatible. Is there some way to configure the phone to accept the adapter and headset in settings?

Hi Dawud,

The headset and adapter you're trying to use isn't designed to work with your Cisco phone. I have no experience in testing these with a Cisco phone so I can't comment to much on why it won't work. That being said I have a couple options for you that are 100% compatible. Links are below for you.
