Hey,

I would like to add 2 MGCP gateway in a Router list.

But, How CUCM knows if specif gateway is up? By Network conectivity, E1 port status or both?

thanks.

You're correct, both are used.

MGCP uses a keepalive method to make sure it's reachable, and also the ISDN status to make sure the endpoint is registered.

If you want more info on how the RG/RL/RP works, it's all explained in the dial plan chapter from the SRND.

Hello

You have to create two route groups , for 2 X MGCP ports and assign both for RL , but you to make sure from the below:-

1-MGCP ports on CUCM shows registered.

2-On gateway , show ccm-manger "shows you that your GW registered to yur CUCM ".

RL will select the 1st RG on the RL , if the call not reachable by 1st the call will be routed to the 2nd RG.Please find the below

Hi Jean,

I just captured the snapshot from cisco document.

Route List allows Cisco CallManager to hunt through a list of Route Groups in a configured order of preference. A Route List consists of an ordered list of Route Groups. Route Lists expand the Route Groups concept and allow the user to order and prioritize your route groups. Multiple Route Lists can point to the same Route Groups. A Route List chooses a path for call routing and points to prioritized Route Groups.
