Hi all,
I am new to Cisco IP Telephony.
Can someone guide me how to check the version of call manager running in my router?
I have a couple of 7940 phones which are not taking config from the call manager and I'm not sure whether their firmware is compatible with the call manager version i'm using.
Thanks.

Hi Imran,
Hope all is well with you
From the CLI you can type in sh telephony-service, this command will show you what verison of CME you are running.
Hope this helps!

It's worth noticing you're not using CUCM. CUCM runs on MCS servers and now on virtualized environments.
You're using CME which runs on IOS.
Config is very different.

Thanks for mentioning.
I'm getting this when I run the command "sh telephony-service":
Version 4.0(2)
Cisco Unified CallManager Express
My issue is:
I have two 7940 phones which work well with the above mentioned Call Manager A but they do not work with another Call Manager B on a different site.
When I run the command "sh telephony-service" on the Call Manager B, I get:
Version 4.1(0)
Cisco Unified Communication Manager Express
Both call managers also show the entry "load 7960-7940 P0030702T023" in the command output.
Could it be due to the version difference on both call managers?
Which firmware version of 7940 is required to work with Call Manager version 4.1(0)?
Unfortunately, I don't have the firmware version info of 7940 with me at the moment.
Thanks.
