CUCM version 6.1.5
Active directly version: exchange server 2010 SP1
I did the following on RTMT
Step 1: Choose System > Tools > Alert > Config Email Server.
The Mail Server Configuration window displays.
Step 2: In the Mail Server field, enter the e-mail recipient information. ( i tried once to enter ip of exchange server and another time the exchane sever DNS) but both faild to fix the problem
Step 3: In the Port field, enter the port number of the mail server => 25 & Click OK.
then configure alert action where it seems to be sent as clered below in the image but nothing recieved actually?!!
is there is any additional configurations required to be done on the CUCM side or exchange server side?

Is "Mail Relay" allowed on your Exchange Server? If not, allow it. But pay attention! Just allow "Mail Relay" from inside your company.

Might be hitting this
Also if you have a look at RTMT serviceability logs you would see
ERROR [MailProducer] alertmgr.SendMail - SendMail::sendMsg: got messaging exception= javax.mail.SendFailedException: Sending failed; nested exception is: class javax.mail.MessagingException: 501 5.1.7 Invalid address
Which means its sending an email with RTMT_Admin however no domain is present
Workaroundassign the fully qualified domain name to the servers involved using the following CLI: set network dns primaryDocs for the sameset network dns secondary set network domain
