Hello,
We currently use 7841 and 8851 phones with APC-43 EHS adapters to Plantronics CS540 headsets. Is there a way to turn off the ringer in the headset but keep the ringer on the phone. We have users at a registration intake that often have to speak to customers at the desk. They are finding the headset beeping in their ear very interfering with their conversations.

Hi Sadav,
Cleared up the confusion with the user. They had reported that the headset was ringing when a call came in and the phone was idle and speaking to someone in front of them. But this was not the case, as you stated it was the beeping when a call came in and the phone was already active. We have updated the Ringer settings when phone is active to flash only. It wasn't exactly what they were wanting though as they still wanted the phone to ring, just not in the headset, as they are in a pickup group and they wanted other nearby users to hear the phone. We updated the other phones in the pickup group to have the setting Call pickup group audio alert setting (Phone Idle): Ring Once. Thanks for your confirmation of the issue, it helped to identify the true issue.

Means users getting beep sound during the calls ?
If yes seems like user getting another call during the conversation or call waiting features is available on their phones.

Good to hear that issue has been fixed.
Yes those users was the part of pickup group so whenever call was coming for any of user they were getting audio visual alert.
You can change that setting from the phone line page.

We had the same issue and fixed by installing the Plantronics Hub software you can get off their web site. They've been acquired since, so it might be the Poly Lens software version now. From that app we were able to silence the beeping in the headset. We were using the 540 with the APC-43 and 8861 phones. HTH.

@lpersing were you able to get either the Plantronics Hub or Poly Lens to connect to the CS540? The software will only connect to the USB dongle, and that pops up readily. However, I am unable to get the software to ever show the actual headset.
