I have a customer who wants to be able to forward the pilot number of a hunt group to whoever is on call for that week. Is it possible or practical to do this and how would I go about it.

If you mean doing it from the phone, there's no way, you need to do that via CCMAdmin.
If you want to do it from the phone you'd need to develop an XML application for that.

If you have UCCX you could write an app to front-end the hunt group which could have a TUI to manage the diverts.
