Hi,
It should be permitted provided the following regulations are followed:
Regulations of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) require that voice traffic over the enterprise data network and the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) must be strictly separated and no mixing of calls between the two networks can occur for the purpose of toll bypass.
The following list shows basic scenarios that are restricted (that is, not allowed):
ā¢The call that passes through a PSTN gateway connects directly by using WAN to a VoIP phone or VoIP PSTN gateway in a different geographic location.
āIf PSTN gateway is located in India, this remains strictly restricted. If the PSTN is in another country and a VoIP phone is in India and if connection results in revenue loss to Indian telecom service providers, the connection gets considered restricted.
The following list gives basic scenarios that are permitted:
ā¢Call directly between two VoIP phones in different geographic locations
ā¢Call from a VoIP phone to a PSTN gateway in the same geographic location
A call that passes through a PSTN gateway must never connect directly to a VoIP phone or VoIP PSTN gateway in a different site or geographic location (geolocation) through use of IP telephony.

Yes, it is permitted as Manish said.
There are lot of companies which has callmanager in one country and IP phones have been located to other countries and using them for VoIP calling. Just you need to make sure that you should not mix-up PSTN and voip calls (Conference, transfer, callforward etc).

Agents in Bangalore are using soft phone which is registered to US CM. When i call US mobile from this softphone by sitting at Bangalore, it is a local call. Is this allowed?

Hello ,
Can someone answer to my query? We are about to deploy a Call manager server locally in Bangalore (India) to register all our endpoints to the local server as per DoT.
If I have a server here in India location can I host remote branch site of my organization which is outside of India? Means if the call manager is in Bangalore, can I configure a site which is outside of India like Singapore, China etc? Or the India call manager should host the remote branches that are in India location only.
It would be really great if someone can answer to this as it is becoming a huge confusion about the TRAI regulations.
