Information regarding CUWL license

Hi,

I need to upgrade from 6.1.2 to 8.5.1. As there is no direct upgrade path from 6.1.2 to 8.5.1 so i will go to 6.1.4 1st & then to 8.5.1

I would like to know the below:

1. Is it mandatory to have CUWL license as soon as i upgrade to 8.5.1? Without the CUWL license can CUCM work as it is with the original feature? In the mean time, i will arrnage for the CUWL license..

2. While downloading ihe image, i found the term Restricted & Unrestricted image..What is that for??

Hi Partha,

1. You will need to arrange your licenses before upgrading. Without

the Software feature License the Callmanager Service won't start.

2.The Restricted version is the one that has been around forever and is what 95%

of us run. The un-Restricted version only came out with the release of CUCM 7.1(5)

and it contains many changes to encryption that allows it to be shipped/installed in certain

countries around the world where it was previously not allowed.
