IP Communicator + Desk Phone on CME

Gents,

Can someone give me direction on how to configure a softphone/ip communicator using the same number as my desk phone number instead of giving a new number on CME. I can set up a softphone on CME but I'm loss associating the number to an existing desk phone number.

CME(config)#ephone-dn 1

CME(config-ephone-dn)#number 1001

....

CME(config)#ephone-dn 1

CME(config-ephone-dn)#ephone 1

CME(config-ephone)#mac-address 1323.456.abcd.efg2
