IP-Phone is not registing to CUCM that TFTP migration from CME To CUCM.

Hello, I tryed migrate for TFTP Server from CME to CUCM 8.6(2).

 

IP-Phone 7970 Regist Success when I try to register the IP-Phone that has been registered in the old CME to the CUCM. IP-Phone's Firmware is Migrate to Firmware Release 9.2(3).

 

But, Regist Fail when TFTP address change from CME to CUCM in Firm 9.2(3) IP-Phone.

 

I tryed following steps:

  1. Firm 9.2(3) IP-Phone removed from the network.

  2. TFTP Address change in DHCP option.

    -> old : option 150/192.168.0.1(CME's IP Address)

    -> new : option 150/172.16.0.1(CUCM's IP Address)

  3. Firm 9.2(3) IP-Phone connect to the network.

  4. IP-Phone was request to old TFTP Server Address.

  5. I tryed Static Config for IP/TFTP Address on IP-Phone.

  6. IP-Phone was request to old TFTP Server Address.

 

What is the cause?

What is the CUCM version ?

show version active output from all the nodes?

what is the default load for 7970 phones (Device,device defaults there you can figure out).

■ what is the default load for 7970 phones (Device,device defaults there you can figure out)

- SCCP70.9-2-3S

Normally the show version active output gives like this

admin:show version active
Active Master Version: 8.5.1.10000-26
Active Version Installed Software Options:
cmterm-7942_7962-sccp.9-3-1SR4-1.cop
cmterm-7942_7962-sccp.9-3-1SR1-1.cop

If the corresponding firmware file is missing might be  you have to upload the firmware to all the nodes through tftp (OS administration,software upgrade and then through tftp)..

 

And I am sure that you have tried multiple options like renewing the lease,giving ip mannually and also tftp ip manualy.

correct firmware was already installed in all nodes.

I config the different value in ISC-DHCPD. I subneted Vlan A and Vlan B. Vlan A is set the old TFTP(CME) Address. Vlan B is set the new TFTP(CUCM) Address.

 

IP-Phone Migrate Vlan A to Vlan B, But IP-Phone regist fail.

 

I manualy set new TFTP Address on the IP-Phone, But still request to old TFTP Address.

Out of curiosity have you tried converting it to a SIP load and putting a line on it to see if it registers to CUCM?

In addition, try factory resetting the phone or at least wiping out the network configuration on the phone itself.  Sounds like it might be stuck since it sees the same DHCP server but the only thing that changed as the option 150.

I tryed factory reset. But, IP-Phone fail to regist at CME and CUCM.

 

After factory reset, IP-Phone loads "term70.default.loads" and "jar70sccp.9-3-X"(Sorry, The exact version I've forgotten.)

 

At the next boot sequence, IP-Phone loads "SCCP70.9-2-3S"(CUCM device defaults).

 

Loads Complete. But, IP-Phone regist fail. Time Locale is not exact (Display the 8:37"a" in the IP-Phone's screen)

I had this problem and I did factory reset

power on with # pressed

and 123456789*0#

Have you tried downloading latest firmware files from Cisco website and then tried registering the phone?

Regist Success when I tryed your suggestion.

Results were investigated in detail, TFTP server has been switched, But CM server is not switched.

I had success to the CM server switching when erase device config on the phone.

 

IP-Phone would hold previous CM Server Address ? Is This would specification ?

Yes..

 

Normally it will switch back.But if not we used to try the same.
