Hello!
I experience problems with localization of IP phones 7900 series on CME 7.1.
Initially installed phones accepted new locale without problems, phones I've added afterwards didn't accept necessary locale.
Below I've mentioned problem phones MAC addresses:
7911G - SEP1C17D3416EB7 SCCP11.8-4-2S SCCP11.8-4-2S Initialized
7906 G - SEP00270D3EEF1F SCCP11.8-4-2S TCP-timeout
7911 G - SEP1C17D3416865 SCCP11.8-4-2S SCCP11.8-4-2S Initialized
See attached part of config.

Hi,
Have you tried by creating Phone specific locales for any of these 3 phones? And, are they SIP phone as SIP phone does not support locales in CME?
And also, please use "Locale Installer" which is a new feature in CME7.1 if you have not used.
Regards..

Specific phone locales are not needed and should not be configured.
The phones are SCCP not SIP as clearly indicated in first post.
Just FYI, the "local installer" creates invalid configuration and doesn't work.
I would do a factory reset on the phones, then observe "debug tftp events" with "terminal monitor".

Thanks Paolo,
I will do these steps and revert with debug log.

Hi Paolo,
Though it's not recommended to use phone specific locales, I have asked for only troubleshooting purposes.
Local installer creates invalid configuration : Does it mean a bug with Cisco local installer or need to customize the given configuration by Local installer? Cisco states this installer is simplified version instead of entering 16 manual steps.

As mentioned above, the locale installer is broken, and configuration must be done manually anyway.

Paulo,
attached there are two files:
#1. I did a factory reset on the phone and then observed "debug tftp events" as you've recommended.
#2. To let you see what phones are trying to load after usual reset, I've made for the phone which has necessary locale loaded and the other one for the phone which was restarted again after factory reset.
Hope to hear your soonest comments.
