Does anyone know of a softphone that can be used on a MAC with the UC520?
IP communicator appears to be only for Windows.

No Cisco softphones are available for the Macintosh that would work with the UC520. Cisco has the Unified Personal Communicator that will work with the Mac, but it requires Cisco Unified Presence.
Your only option for a Mac softphone would be a 3rd party SIP client. I can't provide any guidance on that as I haven't tried to get a SIP softphone working with any express products. You would also likely lose some functionality with SIP clients.
Hope this helps,
Robert

Robert,
Thank you for the reply. I kinda had a feeling thats the way it was. I have tried the sip soft phones before phones, but never connected to a UC.
Thanks

gogasca - can you please let us know how your testing with XLite on the Mac and a UC 520 went? Also, can you post the proper configuration settings for PC and/or Mac based XLite clients for the UC520? That would be REALLY helpful!
If you provide this information we will gladly help you test it and report back (we are Cisco partners but we're also end-users in this case using a UC520.)
Thanks!

P.S.: This is far less important) - CounterPath apparently *just* released a version of Bria for the Mac 2 days ago. Would the config on the UC520 be different for this softphone vs. X-Lite?

6 years old but now there's a free solution from Cisco.
Jabber for Mac!
It can be downloaded for free and set up in standalone mode without the IM&P server.
You can even see contacts from Active Directory.

Jabber documentation covers that, it will depend on the version you want to use:
