Hello,
Working on a project to consolidate analog services at 80+ sites to a centralized SIP solution. Looking at a managed SIP solution handed off via an Adtran at HQ. Today each site has a cisco router with FXO (analog lines) and VPN connection back to HQ where the CUCM and CUXN cluster resides. When we move a site to SIP here at HG for inbound and outbound calling, is it a workable solution to bypass the site routers for any voice traffic and utilize the CUCM cluster for Media Resources (MTP, XCODE, Conferencing, etc) and not invoke any Hardware resources (router)?
Thank you!

Hi,
For MTP and Conferencing, you can use CUCM resources, but for transcoding you need an hardware resource with Hardware dsp.
Here a reference doc.

Thank you for the resource. After reading thru the link, I should be able to utilize two ISR4300 routers at HQ for transcoding and not required at each of the branch sites?
