Jabber Presence status can't be changed after upgrade to 15SU2

We upgraded one of our CUCM/IM&P clusters from 14SU2 to 15SU2 using data import/export and now we can't change the presence status to Away, DND or any custom status.  It just continues to stay at Available.  Also, IM&P shows the number of Assigned Users but Active Users is 0.  Has anyone experienced this issue with the upgrade and found a solution?

We had this issue with another cluster but after several restarts it started working.  But in this other cluster restarts aren't doing the trick.

Sounds like you’d need TAC help on this.

Hi  Mdaswani,

We are experiencing the exact same issue with IM&P 15 SU2, Jabber status can't be manually changed on Windows, iPhones or Androids. I'm bit hesitating to open a TAC case as working with TAC isn't as fun as it used to be! Did you get anywhere with this?

Thank you

Aomar.

Yes.  After upgrading to 15SU2 our O365 Presence Gateway in IM&P didn't automatically connect.  After selecting Verify/Save and then restarting the Presence Engine service the issue was resolved.  I confirmed this with 2 clusters that we upgraded.  Both had the same issue where none of the users could change presence status and both needed the O365 integration reconnected.

However, in v14 there is a similar bug CSCwm27192 that was supposed to have been resolved in v15.  But I don't think it's completely resolved since we still experience this issue.  It only happens on new synced users and we are able to workaround it by disabling/re-enabling IM&P checkbox and moving the user to another IM&P server and back again.  This process resolved the issue.

It doesn't seem like we are facing the same issue. We are using CUCM as a presence gateway and all existing users are having this issue disabling/re-enabling IM&P and moving between IM&P servers didn't help. I'll try restarting the Presence Engine next and see what happens,

Run utils imdb_replication status and utils dbreplication runtimestate and see if there are any issues with the replication.  If you haven't tried rebooting already then try that instead of the Presence Engine restart.  Utils diagnose test and Diagnostics>System Troubleshooter may also reveal some issues causing this.

All diagnostics and DB replications are good, I'll try rebooting later tonight!
