Licencing on CUCM

Hi All

We have a CUCM on version 11.5, we recently moved from SWSS to Flex.

Am I right in saying our CUCM will still use the PLM server and will be unable to get the flex licences until we upgrade to version 12.5?

Second question, on PLM I can see we have enhanced, enhanced plug, cuwl standard and cuwl pro licences installed. If we need an extra phone but dont have the enhanced licence with it, but have available cuwl licences on the system, will it automatically use the one from the upper tier, ie the cuwl licences?

Many thanks

Look at this post as it should be quite similar to your first part.https://community.cisco.com/t5/unified-communications/a-flex-3-version-11x-license-entitlement/td-p/4530535

For the second part, yes it will borrow from an upper tier.

With Flex you can order V11 license. Which you install it on PLM. unlike perpetual license, this license will have a expiry based on your Flex plan.

As @Roger Kallberg  mentioned If you have Upper tier free license, lower license requirement can be fulfilled using substitution. which basically means they borrow from the upper tier
