Hi,
In our Cisco Unified Communication 7.0 installation, I have begun a project to release some licenses by deleting the physical phones that have the "unknown" status in the IP-address field.
I do the same thing with the ATA-units with the "unknown" status in the IP-address field.
Now I wonder... what about the phone number in the Call-Manager? Do they count a license in any way? Or are they for free as the end-users?
Kind regards,
Carl-Marius

Hi Carl-Marius,
Excellent question
In CUCM Licensing the Directory Numbers/DN's do not consume
any Licenses. When you remove the "Unknown" phones make sure
to copy the MAC/DN/Description etc. just in case someone calls in
a week from now with a "dead" phone trouble report when they pull
the phone out of their desk and plug it back in
Also, make sure to remove the DN from the Route Plan report>Unassigned DN
section of CUCM admin to fully free up the Directory number.
Cheers!

Hi Rob,
Thank you for your answer! I will copy the information about the ATA and phones before I delete them!
Kind regards,
Carl-Marius
