Hey guys,
Just a quick question.
I'm going over all the lisencing on my voice gateways and on some there is an cme-srst section and on some others there are not there is only a UCK9 section.
My question is if I have active uck9 licensing does that have cme-srst rolled up in it or should I see a seperate section for cme-srst regardless of wiether or not I have uck9 licensing?
Thanks,
BR

Hi Brent,
UCK9 does not "legally" have cme-srst rolled up within but in the licensing scheme,
the cme-srst feature license is a "paper" RTU (right to use) license only.
There is nothing to load on the router itself. In the ISR-G2 versions you can see
the accepted/unaccepted state but that's it.
Use the "show license" command to get started;
Activating CME-SRST Feature License
The ISR-G2 comes with a 60-day evaluation license. After 60 days, the license changes to “right to use”.
The customer is required to pay for the CME-SRST feature license which is valid for 12 years.
Prerequisites
• UCK9 license
• ISR-G2 already accepts UC CLIs
SUMMARY STEPS
1. show license detail cme-srst
2. configure terminal
3. license accept end user agreement
4. exit
5. show license detail cme-srst
6. write mem
DETAILED STEPS
Command or Action Purpose
Step 1 show license detail cme-srst
Example:
Router# show license detail cme-srst
Displays the available cme-srst license. EULA should be in NOT
ACCEPTED state.
Step 2 configure terminal
Example:
Router# configure terminal
Enters global configuration mode.
Step 3 license accept end user agreement
Example:
Router(config)# license accept end user
agreement
Configures a one-time acceptance of the EULA for cme-srst
license.
Accepts EULA by typing YES.
Step 4 exit
Example:
Router(config)# exit
Exits global configuration mode.
Step 5 show license detail cme-srst
Example:
Router# show license detail cme-srs
Displays the available cme-srst license. EULA should be in
ACCEPTED state.
Step 6 write mem
Example:
Router# write mem
Saves configuration.
Command or Action
This is explained in more detail starting on Page 15;

Hey Rob,
Sorry, just want to get this straight because I'm getting a couple of different stories.
1. UCk9 has nothing to do with cme-SRST?
2. If I have the call-manager-fallback configured on a router but when I do a show license and I do NOT see the cme-srst index in the list does this mean that srst will fail?
05-14-2012 11:03 AM
For instance.
When I run this command on one of my gateways I get this response. Does this mean that cme-srst is not enabled on this router?
CC-CC-01#sh license detail cme-srst
% Error: No license for cme-srst found - License feature not found

Hi Brent,
Keep in mind that you will only see the reference I posted on ISR-G2 version routers;
ie. 29xx and 39xx series.
On the 28xx series you won't see the license detail, but that doesn't mean that SRST
will fail as the licenses are only "paper" based so there is nothing to view
Cheers!

Hey Rob,
Thanks for the quick replies by the way.
The error message I showed above was on a 3900 series router. I understand that the 2800 or the 3800's won't have that but when I get this error message on a 3900 I start to wonder

Hey brent,
You are most welcome my friend It looks like I may be somewhat off track (not surprising )
