Locale 7821 CUCM 8.5.1.10000-26

Hi,

I am installing the Locale Files of the Cisco 7821  phones registered in the CUCM 8.5.1.10000-26, but in the Software Installation/Upgrade I have the following logs:

po-locale-ca_ES- 10.2.1.1000-1.cop.sgn

Major and minor version numbers obtained from the name do NOT match those of the current version.

po-locale-es_CO-10.2.1.1000-1.cop.sgn

Major and minor version numbers obtained from the name do NOT match those of the current version.

po-locale-es_ES-10.2.1.1000-1.cop.sgn

Major and minor version numbers obtained from the name do NOT match those of the current version.

Note: The firmware version of the Cisco 7821 phone is sip78xx.10-2-1-12.

and also restart the publisher and subscriber

and nothing leaves up load the locale

Locale files need to match CUCM version, not phone firmware version as the locale files apply to the entire system, you need to install 8.5 locales on your system on every CUCM server.

What Version of Locale Installer should I apply when I upgrade my CUCM?

General rule: Apply the latest Locale Installer release that matches the major.minor version of CUCM. Released locale installers are available on cisco.com. Locate the latest LI with a major.minor number that matches your CUCM or CUP (new name CUCM IM&P) major.minor version. For example, the latest locale installer for CUCM 6.1.x is LI 6.1.3.1000-1 (as of December 2009). Here are some exceptions for the matching "major.minor" number rule:

• For CUCM release CUCM 6.1.2.1104-1, and any CUCM 6.1 releases after CUCM 6.1.2.1104-1, please use locale version 6.1.3.x.
• CUCM 7.1.1 and CUCM 7.1.2 work only with LI 7.1.2.x. CUCM 7.1.3 and onwards work only with LI 7.1.3 and later release LI 7.1.x.

Do locales need to be installed on every Node?

Yes, Cisco Unified Communications Locale Installer MUST be applied to each and every Cisco Unified Communications Manager server in a cluster, starting with the publisher. After installation has completed, it is essential to reboot each and every platform in order for all user and network locale changes to become fully activated

I usually would agree, but I looked at the README before commenting anything, because this time, that's not true.

3.1 Installation 
Cisco Unified Communications Phone Only Locale Installer 10.2.1.1000 is intended to be installed on any version of Cisco Unified Communications Manager which supports Cisco IP phone firmware 10.2. Cisco IP phone firmware 10.2 is supported in Cisco Unified Communications Manager version 8.5(1) and above.

Yes, i found this statement in the readme file too, but it does not work.

We want to use the Cisco 7841 on the a CUCM 8.5.1.-10000-26.

For the registration i installed the devicepack:

cmterm-devicepack8.5.1.17132-1.cop.sgn

the phone is registered but when i want to install the german locale:

po-locale-de_DE-10.2.2.1000-1.cop.sgn

i get the message

"Major and minor version numbers obtained from the name do NOT match those of the current Version"

I did not find any other files for the CUCM 8.5.1.

Do you got an idea?

this error could be due to firmware issue in phone .

what is the phone firmware version u are using for 7841?

As per the READMe , u need to have  10.2(1)

thank you for your fast reply.

i tried it with the sip78xx.10-1-1SR1-4 an with the sip78xx.10-2-1-12SR-4.

I already get this message when i try to install it in the os-Administration.

Hi Aman,

yes, i tried all versions from the downloadpage.....same result.

I also tried to rename the files to "po-locale-de_DE-8.5.1.1000-1.cop.sgn"

Then the cucm detects the file but when he will upload it i get the message:

"Error encountered: The selected file is not valid"

It has something to do with locale version only as the error shows.

The same problem occurs with cucm 8.6.2 as well. I am trying to install the German locale (both 10.2.2 and 10.2.1) for 7821 but get the same error:

"Major and minor version numbers obtained from the name do NOT match those of the current version." 

does anybody figure out how to overcome this?

which version of 8.6.2 is used?
I have the same problem with an 8.6.2.20000 and locale 10.2.2

Update: it is working in our Lab with CUCM 8.6.2.24116-1

my colleague found following Bug-IDs:

CSCun43330 (CSCuq35730;CSCuq35730)

8.6.2a(SU4 or SU5) should solve the problem

thanks for partners support the answer is that I have to upgrade to version 8.6.2 to install the locale because in my version there is a bug that was fixed in 8.6.2
