Hello,
MP8 with CUCM8.6
Cisco 9951 IP Phones
MGCP Gateways
Scenario:
Audio meeting in-session.
uses TUI to initiate a call out to invite overseas participant
dials the number, and the call goes through. Then there is an IVR prompt asking for an auth. code to connect the call.
Fails at inputting code. which means DTMF is not being recognized or relayed.
If dialing from the 9951 Phone straight/normally this works.
SIP Trunk is set to "No Preference" for DTMF signalling, and MTP Required is Unchecked.
reading the doc on the SIP Trunk, and CUCM 8.6, MTP will be automatically assigned in this situation to translate/relay the DTMF.
But it is still not working.
I did try MTP required Checked on the SIPTrunk and it doesn't work.
Is there anything to set on the Gateway?
Is it a IP Phone 9951 setting?
Please help
Regards
Felix

Hi Felix,
Does this describe your call scenario
pstn-----mgcpgw------cucm---siptrunk--MP
are you dialling into MP from outside? What do you mean by 9951 works if you dial straight.
Can you do a test call and enable the ff debug on the gateway..
debug voip rtp session named-event
pls also send a sh run of your mgcp gateway

Hello aokanlawon
call flow: >> >> >>
9951 IP Phone -------SIPtrunk----MP----SIPtrunk---CUCM-----MGCPGW-------PSTN
The audio meeting is initiated from inside.
User then does #3,1 using the TUI to call external party (overseas participant) the number being dialed includes some telco IDD code which prompts the user like an IVR before connecting them to the participant.
What I mean by dialling from 9951 works straight is:
from within the company on the 9951 IP Phone, the user dials the same number to connect the overseas participant, and goes through the prompts etc to get connected.
I will need some time to get the logs since customer is overseas.
Thanks
