Dear All,

please help me on solving the below problem

E1 port on 2921 MGCP Gateway displays amber weither it's plugged or not. It is a new configuration

"show isdn status" shows Layer 1 status is SHUTDOWN

Do not confuse with colours.

Kepping RJ-45 Jack towards Earth, from left towards right see 1, 2, 4 and 5 .

You can use unterminated cable at router end.

now I've connected the service provider E1 cable and on cucm E1 port displays "Rejected" in addition to that on the gate way the show isdn status command shows Layer 1 Deactivated

Is your E1 UP? Have u configured MGCP or H.323.?

Can u try physically shorting the pairs 1 with 4 and 2 with 5 ? just to check whether E1 port is perferect or not.

I've configured my E1 for MGCP,

My E1 is down but when i did i loopback diag it goes up

my connection to the the SP modem is, i just use a fabricated straight through patch cord by bcuting white green, green, white orange and orange. the connect white green with orange, green with white orange and vice versa

Try changing the framing crc-4 to no-crc4.

if it still does not come UP, try swapping the pairs.

nothing changed but when i reload the router i saw the below error lines

call manager backhaul registration failed

unable to setup isdn layer 3 protocol on interface

one thing that make confuse is the the E1 port dispays Amber without pluging any cable. can you tell me what the reason is ?

FYI: when i restart the cucm i can see the E1 is registered to the cucm but i make refresh to the cucm interface it immediately changed to unregistered.

use shut and no shut?

if possible , share ccm-manager from router.
