Hi,

We configured a Cisco ISR 4321 as MGCP to the CUCM 10.5. Upon checking the output of show ccm-manager the status is registered while on the CUCM side, the E1 port is on unregistered status.

Please see the information below for the ISR 4321:

As correctly pointed by others you can configure H323 on this gateway while staying on CUCM 10.0 , however upgrading to 10.5.2 is recommended whether you want to use MGCP or H323.

Manish

Hi Manish,

Thank you so much. How come it is recommended on upgrading the CUC to 10.5.2 whether we use MGCP or H323?

CUCM 10.0 is no longer being developed any further by the BU, that's the prime reason for upgrade to 10.5.2. Plus you get bug fixes that come with 10.5.2 and this upgrade does not cost you anything extra. Staying on 10.0 will still be okay if you want to stay on 10.0 only.

Manish,

Interesting post, i just faced the similar symptoms today. Bogus MGCP ports shown up in cisco IOS gateway even though its deleted at the cucm gateway page (end points)

My cisco ISR 4431 Router version: Version 03.16.04b.s - Extended Support Release

My CUCM Version: 10.5.2.1.16900-10

On top of that after deleting the ports at CUCM, on the gateway- it still shows MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED (show isdn status command)

This is weird.

Any advice?

From "show mgcp endpoints" - It shows that its UP but from CUCM, we dont see that configuration since its deleted

I suspect for some reason CUCM is not able to communicate to Voice gateway to delete the ports- looks like a bug?

Is there anything filed like this?
