Hi All,
I just need a clarification with MGCP redundant host configuration in GW and CCM group configuration in CUCM.
SETUP:
CCM group series :
SUB1, SUB2 and PUB
Commands configured in GW
ccm-manager mgcp
MGCP
ccm-manager config server <IP address>
The question is with the above commands whether the MGCP will download the CCM group information from the TFTP server or not? If its downloads means then the output will look like
ccm-manager mgcp
MGCP
ccm-manager config server <PUB-TFTP IP address>
mgcp call-agent <SUB1 - IP address> 2427 service-type mgcp version 0.1
ccm-manager redundant-host <SUB2 - IP address>
Or we need specify the call-agent IP and redundant host IP in the MGCP GW?
If we need specify the IP address in the MGCP configuration then what is the propuse of choosing CCM group in the CUCM while adding GW.
Please advise.
Thanks,
Murali.P

Hello,
This is how the config should look :
ccm-manager mgcp
ccm-manager music-on-hold
ccm-manager config server X.X.X.X Primary server
ccm-manager redundant-host X.X.X.X Secondary server
ccm-manager config
!
mgcp
mgcp call-agent X.X.X.X 2427 service-type mgcp version 0.1
We usually assign the first config server to the server in the same location and the redundnant will be in case of a failure.
To check the registration , type show ccm-manager
It will show you what is the server that the gateway is now registered to and what are the ip's that standby

Murali Sir,
Hope you are doing great.
Config server is the server in which TFTP is running and has the CNF file. The file will be generated only if the device exists in the call manager for this we configure the group in the call manger and give all details for the gateway in CCM. Redundant is configured mainly for MGCP fallback. Give me a call if i am not clear with my post.
Thanks,
