Mobile Connect on 8961

Brett Williston

I have successfully configured mobile connect on an 8961 but a soft key for "mobility" is not appearing on the 8961. So the user has no way of turning it on and off. How do I get this soft key to appear?

Hey Brett,

No worries my friend

It will be a Phone Button template. See below for steps;

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/8_6_1/ccmcfg/b06phtmp.html#wpxref58098

If you find the existing Button template you can copy/rename it and then you will be able to

add a Mobilty button on the newly named/created template. Once that's done apply the

new template to the specific 8961 and you should be good to go.

***You can't modify the Standard templates***

Cheers!

Hi Brett,

For the 8961 you would need to program a Feature button instead of a Softkey

Feature Buttons and Softkeys

#

Table 7-4 provides information about some of the features that are available on  softkeys, some that are available on dedicated feature buttons, and some  that you need to configure as programmable feature buttons. An "X" in  the table indicates that the feature is supported for the corresponding  button type or softkey. Of the two button types and softkeys, only  programmable feature buttons require configuration in Cisco Unified IP  Phone administration.

#

Note The  Cisco Unified IP Phone 8961, 9951, and 9971 does not use softkey  templates in Cisco Unified Communications Manager administration.

#

For information on configuring programmable feature buttons, see the "Modifying Phone Button Templates" section.

Thanks Rob. I'm a newbie. How do I program a feature button? Do I need to configure a phone template?
