Hi Everyone,
I have cluster A and cluster B connetced through WAN and Proxy SIP.
If a user from cluster B (called B1) calls another user in cluster A (called A1) and the A1 puts the B1 on hold, which server is going to stream the Moh to B1 phone? Will the stream be traversing the WAN link from cluster A to Cluster B? The servers across clusters are forced to use G711.
Thanks,
MK

The MOH server from the cluster where you pressed hold.
This is no different if you were calling someone on the PSTN.

Thanks Java,
So, the Moh will be traversing the WAN from cluster A to cluster B using G711. Right?
Thanks,
Mk

Yes, assuming that's the codec you have configured for the trunk/ICT/etc and the MOH server.

Thanks my friend :-)
But wouldn't be nicer if the CUCM in cluster A1 could instruct the CUCM in cluster B to stream the Moh locally? Would save the BW for other critical applications.
Thanks,
MK

Sure, but that feature set is not there. As far as CUCM is concerned the other cluster is an external system and extending MRGLs across cluster is not possible. Who knows, maybe one day :-)
