Hi All,
I have a strange issue that I can't seem to get to the bottom of. When the CME receives an incoming call users can only see 90 on there desk phones. I've looked back at my other configs but can't seem to see when the issue is. caller ID works for internal calls.

voice translation-profile Inbound translate calling 5 <--- This is applied to the calling number translate called 2 voice translation-rule 5 <--- Which is this rule rule 1 // /90/
It looks like that rule is replacing whatever the number is with 90. Are you trying to just prefix a 9 on the calling number so it's easy to redial?
Take a read of this which I think will help - https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11576951/voice-translation-rule-prefix
08-03-2014 04:03 AM
Hi,
Yes 9 is prefixed to make it easier to redial. The bit I'm confused by is I've managed to achieve this before using the same translation.
08-04-2014 07:48 AM
// /90/ should work to prefix 90 onto whatever number your telco is sending you. Perhaps they aren't sending caller digits. I would check with your telco to make sure the feature is enabled.

I would also verify the service is enabled with the carrier and if not have them add it to the BRI channel. I have found this to not be uncommon. We would think that caller id is enabled by default, but many carriers still offer it separately as a billable feature.
Turn on some debugs and see what you get.
debug vpm signal

Give it a test with the following handy command
The output after that should show you the original number and the translated number.
