No memory on 1861 router : Upgrade help

Hi

I have 1861 router and running telephony on it. There is no enough memory so I can not add a new dial-peer on it.

I want to upgrade it, but not sure if I have to buy the memory or just IOS upgrade would do.

The current IOS version is  :

Cisco IOS Software, C1861 Software (C1861-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M), Version 15.1(1)T, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 12.4(11r)XW3, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

System image file is "flash:c1861-advipservicesk9-mz.151-1.T.bin"

Seems like you have plenty of memory already.

Hi Paolo,

I have deleted the POTS dial-peer which are not in use. But still I can't add any thing. Getting error " Could not add peer".

Hi,

The IOS you are requires 256M DRAM & 128M FLASH

However this releas has been deferred by Cisco due to software bugs.

To remain in this train you should upgrade to :-

c1861-advipservicesk9-mz.151-1.T3.bin or to the latest release

c1861-adventerprisek9-mz.151-3.T2.bin

Both of these require 256M DRAM & 128M FLASH

On adding a new dial-peer, I am getting error because of less memory:

#conf t

(config)#dial-peer voice 2010 voip

ERROR: could not add peer

Oct 18 01:17:31.494: %DIALPEER_DB-3-ADDPEER_MEM_THRESHOLD: Addition of dial-peers                                limited by available memory

I upgraded the router to IOS c1861-advipservicesk9-mz.151-1.T3.bin.

Now I can add dial-peer or ephone-dn or hunt-group without issues.
