Site A
Dial-peer voice 10 voip
Destination-pattern 9.T
Session target ipv4:10.1.1.1
Site B
Dial-peer voice 100 pots
Destination pattern .T
Port 2/0:15
Scenario:
-----------
A user in Site A places a call to pstn . This call goes to pstn through Site B.
Now as soon as the user in Site A presses 9 to place call to pstn he is not getting a dial tone that we get when we press 9 to place a call to pstn.

Are you using CME? If so, try this at Site A:
router#conf t
router(config)#telephony-service
router(config-telephony)#secondary-dialtone 9
Hope this helps.

I am not using cme. I have just configured dial peers on Site A and Site B is connected to PBX. The pstn calls go through Site B.
I want to generate a tone when a user on Site A presses 9 for dialing pstn. I hope you understand what I mean to say.
Call Flow:
Customer -> GW Site A -> ip -> GW Site B -> PBX
Now i want the customer in Site A to hear secondary tone on pressing 9.

If this is not CME, and just a gateway to route calls, the router will not generate the dial tone.
It is the responsibility of the PBX to generate the same.
The gatreway will just route the calls.

Hi SJ,
You seem to be using an H.323 gateway with dial-peers at site A to route PSTN calls to site B. Is the phone(from which call to PSTN is made) at site A an IP phone registered to Call Manager or an analog phone connected to the GW at site A? If its an IP phone, then on the route pattern pointing to the PSTN number, check the box which says "Provide outside dial tone".
Hope that helps

Hi Nitesh,
Its an analog phone connected to the GW at site A.

Then AFAIK the H.323 gateway will not provide the secondary dial-tone to the analog phone.

I wanted to confirm that do we get secondary dial tone if the gateway is directly connected to pbx thorugh E1.
