No ringback tone on transferred call

Hello folks, we have recently observed a situation where when an external inbound call is transferred from Phone A to Phone B, there is no ringback tone sent to the caller while it is ringing on Phone B. Caller only gets silence until the call is answered on Phone B.

I have done some debug on CUBE and only saw 180 ringing for the first part of the call, i.e. call ringing on Phone A. When the call was transferred to Phone B, I would have expected 180 ringing for that part too, however, there was no such info presented on CUBE.

Note that the issue does not occur for any internally transferred calls, only external.

We have SIP trunks between CUCM and CUBE and SIP trunks to service provider.

I have had a look on other forums but could not find exact symptoms/call flow as ours so any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi all,

Thanks for your input. The issue was resolved by installing Network Locale on CUCM nodes. While upgrading nodes to v12, locale might have been missed or perhaps does not come included in CUCM install package and hence it appeared the ringback tone stopped working.

For anyone experiencing this issue, you can collect IPVMS logs while Annunciator tries to play the wav file and as per below, it failed to playback the wav file in our case:

CANNAudio::GetAnnouncement() LocaleID(1) CountryID(2) AnnID(36) payload(.alaw)

CANNAudio::GetAnnouncement() Ann(Alertingtone) AnnRingBack.wav(NW) AnnRingBack.wav(NW)

CANNAudio::isFileExist(AnnRingBack.wav) isUserLocale(F) UserLocale(1) nwLocale(2) isCustom(F)

CANNAudio::GetLocale Announcement network locale not found ID(2)

CANNAudio::GetAnnouncement() Ann file missing (AnnRingBack.wav) UserLocale(1) Country(2)

CANNAudio::GetAnnouncement() Ann(Alertingtone) File(/usr/local/cm/tftp/)

Hope it helps.

1) Try to add MTP In the call flow

2) Can you paste here the Debug ccsip messages output form CUBE.
